Lily and Lena are two young nuns in training (and closeted lesbians) who have snuck into the chapel at night to rehearse their audition for this year's nativity play. Lena is anxious to win the part of Mary to impress the intimidating Mother Superior and in her support of Lena, Lily has discovered she quite enjoys playing the male biblical characters.
